Canadian Music Week 2013

Canadian Music Week just ended - I'm exhausted, my ears are ringing, my body feels like it's about to collapse, I never want to see another beer in my life (or realistically for a week) and I'm still so stoked. This is the beginning of festival season. I love music festivals. Days of listening to amazing artists, drinking beer with like minded people, enjoying the outdoors, not sleeping, and just being generally overwhelmed by the good times around.

Canadian Music Week is one of the longest of the festivals in Toronto - 5 nights, over a thousand bands, countless amounts of venues, and is always a good sign that the summer is coming. This was the second year that I've been hired by the festival as their 'official photographer' and I couldn't be more thankful. It's such a great opportunity to be able to work all week shooting musicians doing what they do best.

Over the 5 nights I photographed 31 artists - a number I am quite proud of. Each night I generally hit at least 5 different venues and each night proved to be a complete whirlwind. The following are my favourite photos from this years Canadian Music Week.

Raekwon Raekwon

You know... the guy from Wu-Tang

Chvrches Chvrches

The Balconies The Balconies

I seriously love these guys. I listen to their album at least twice a week. From Toronto!

The Wooden Sky The Wooden Sky

Have listened to these guys for a year now. Another Toronto band with a bunch of amazing music.

July Talk July Talk

I am obsessed with these guys. Listen to them probably every other day? Their stage presence is so awesome between the two lead singers.

Protest The Hero Protest The Hero

A Place To Bury Strangers A Place To Bury Strangers

Ben Caplan Ben Caplan

This guys a Toronto legend.

The Beards The Beards

These guys all have beards and only sing about beards. They're as awesome as beards are.

Diemonds Diemonds

These guys rock. Straight up.

Boy Boy

Became obsessed with these guys since seeing them.

Emma Louise Emma Louise

Yeah, it's just her feet but I dig this photo. She's good too!
